Yes, Mikey got his call last night - you had left him a voice message that he played for me. It made his YEAR. Apparently, he was so happy he did a happy little dance around the restaurant where he was eating at the time. He had gotten up to go use the bathroom, and you called during that time - oh, the sorrow! But he laughed so long and loud, and he's just about the happiest guy on the planet right now, telling everyone that you called him! THANK YOU, SHIRLEY! Merry Christmas, and Happy Kwanzaa!!!

Dear Mrs. Liquor (and Dave)

How ya durrin'??? Well, until last night, I thought the $30 I spent to rent a tiller to till up some horrible St. Augustine grass was the best money I have spent in a long time. Now I know it was nothing compared to the purchase of the birthday phone call from Shirley for Miss Gloria. I mean to tell you, it was HYSTERICAL!!! We were all in tears! From the look on her face when she realized that this HAD to really be Shirley Q. Liquor to the very personalized conversation, well I cannot say anything other than it was priceless! She called this morning to say it was the best gift anyone had EVER given her. Thank you again for accommodating me on such short notice.

I have to say, you did it up right-- any celebrity could make a personal call, but the fact that you took the time to inquire about the recipients personality, and incorporate it into the conversation really made it special.

I know Shirley/Charles must get a lot of flack for his portrayal, and yes sometimes she is WAY off the wall. But dammit, it IS funny, and actually not such an off base imitation of real life. And at the core of it all, the character is a good-hearted, loving, and sweet one, not some mean nasty hateful beyotch. So what can be wrong about making people laugh and bringing humor into this too often unfunny world? In my work as a Personal Concierge, I am all about customer service and making people happy. Again, I know your call last night made one person the happiest girl on the planet!
